Bio
Barry and Dari Anne Amato are most familiar as the former producers and dance
instructors for The Nashville Network’s Wildhorse Saloon Show and Club Dance
television series (1995-98). But where did they meet and get their start?
Opryland Theme Park in Nashville, TN is where the pair would be introduced and later
fall in love. This would also be the place the two would hone their skills as singers and
start their dance careers. Dolly Parton’s theme park in Pigeon Forge, TN would further
the couple’s dance training and give them the opportunity to choreograph for several
shows on park, including Randy Parton’s “A Country State Of Mind” and “A Country
Christmas”. These important years prepared them for the next phase of their lives in
television with The Nashville Network.
Hired as producers and later becoming the on camera dance instructors, The Wildhorse
Saloon Show on The Nashville Network would launch the pair into the public eye. The
two became known as America’s Dance Sweethearts and viewers tuned in everyday to
see what the two would offer. Television turned into a generous vehicle for the Amato’s
and afforded them the opportunity to further their dance career by making several
different network appearances on Country Music Television (CMT), The Nashville
Network (TNN), Great American Country (GAC), Home And Garden Network (HGTV)
and the CBS telecast of the Country Music Association Awards (CMA) show with Alan
Jackson. These opportunities lead them into choreographing music videos for such
notable artists as SheDaisy, Louise Mandrell, Pam Tillis, John Michael Montgomery and
Chubby Checker.
Presently, Barry and Dari Anne travel the world teaching all forms of dance including
Country, Swing, and Clogging. Singing has always been a part of their lives and
continues to be incorporated in their dance community where they produce their own
dance music. Barry has gained tremendous knowledge of hosting from either television
appearances, conventions, or his teaching dance with Dari Anne. Together the couple
was asked to act as the Master’s of Ceremony for the Crystal Boot Awards Show in
Blackpool England (2005). Along with their great chemistry and wit they gave their
audience a night of song, dance, and all around fun. The duo was also awarded the
“Show Stopper” Award at the Las Vegas Dancer’s Choice Awards in 2006.
The true passion for this pair though is the creative side of show business through music,
choreography and direction. The dance arena has extended itself to the convention
circuit and the pair have been involved either choreographically or performance wise for
companies like Kawasaki, Home Interiors, Sun Trust Bank, AGLOW and most recently,
Carol Anderson by Invitation (CAbi). Their previous experiences with theme parks,
television and dance instruction for the masses has come full circle and given them the
ability to produce everything from full scale production style shows to simple duet shows
with the two of them performing.
